DEVOTIONAL: THE ONLY HOPE (PAG-ASA)

As we live in this darken world, our everyday life has no promise that life is going to be easy but the promise from the Lord our God is, he will go with us throughout our journey. It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV

But as the Lord has given us this assurance, our part is to make sure, that our lives are aligned according to his will for we know that our God is a Holy God and therefore we as his servants must also keep ourselves being holy, keeping all his teaching in the name of Christ Jesus in our hearts.

These are the keys that can give us the fullness of hope to become a successful believer of Christ in all our life journeys.

P- PRIORITIZETHE LORD- means to seek first his kingdom, living according to his will, righteousness, and spiritual pursuits above all worldly concerns.

In Matthew 6:33, where Jesus instructs: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. This verse is part of the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus addresses worry about material needs, emphasizing that God knows our needs and will provide if we prioritize Him.

A- ACCEPT HIS WORD WHOLEHERTEDLY- JESUS IS LORD- Unless we accept his word we will not be able to find the way, the truth and the life that has the power to overcome darkness in this world. And that is equal to a total destruction of our future. But this is our hope,

  • The word of God said, in Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
  • John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

G- GIVE TIME TO KNOW HIM- To seek God is not all about looking for material and all temporary blessings but to have an intimate relationship with our Lord and savior which produces eternal blessing. To know more about the Lord Jesus it must be personally, it needs time and effort. We really need to read and meditate his word intentionally, the Holy Bible. It will help us to learn of all the things that are truly pleasing and acceptable to God and that is what we called as God’s will. The Holy Spirit who dwells among us today, is the One who help us in exercising his word by applying it personally and obediently by faith. And this habbit will give us the power to discern the voice of God and not be deceived by the enemy to fall into sin again and again.

  • John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

A- ADMIT THAT WE CAN’T- In this word that has full of darkness how can we live and survive if without the light, shelter and food? What I am saying is not only our physical needs but the spiritual needs of individual. As our body needs physical food, our soul also needs spiritual food which is God's word. Most importantly we must admit that we are sinners and apart from Jesus Christ were dead spiritually and supposed to be in hell with zero hope. But our gracious and loving God made a way to restored us. Because of his mercy and grace, He has sent his Son  Jesus Christ to save us from death and the new life begins with full of hope through him as our Lord and savior.

  • 1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
  •  Ephesians 2:1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
  • Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  • Matthew 4:4 " Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

S- SUBMIT BECAUSE HE CAN- The reality of life in this world is full of circumstances, including trials and testing of our faith. But Jesus Christ the Lord has given as the assurance to overcome it all if we fully submit our lives in him.

  • John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

A- ABIDE IN HIS WORD FAITHFULLY AND SEE A VICTORY- Indeed, if we have faith in Christ Jesus we are already victorious.

  • Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
  • 1 John 5:4-5 “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith, Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”
  • John 15:5-8 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Ikaw kapatid, kanino ka ba humuhugot ng PAG-ASA?

Truly, the Lord our God is the only hope that could bring us to the fullness of joy that God has promise to every Christ Jesus believer. Let’s continue to seek his presence as our daily breath for in him we are secured.

A successful life journey in this world is not about of being rich of worldly things but having fulfilled of what the Lord has entrusted for us to do by his mercy and grace.Let us allow the Lord to use us for God's glory. Surely there is a greater reward for those who live obediently and faithfully and that is the most awaited real life victory.

And this is how the Lord will welcome us with rewards in his kingdom someday saying, Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’'Matthew 25:23

Memory Verse: Matthew 16:26 NIV

What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

PRAYER: "Lord, I find hope in Your unfailing love. Your love is a rock I can stand upon, and it never wavers. Even in the midst of trials and tribulations, I am secure in Your love. Fill me with hope, that I may face each day with confidence and trust in You.

" I also lift up all those who are struggling to find hope. May Your light shine in their lives and dispel the darkness. Use me as an instrument of hope to encourage and support those in need. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."

DEVOTIONAL: SALVATION MEANING AND ITS IMPORTANCE

Salvation (also called deliverance or redemption) is the saving of human beings from sin and its consequences—which include death and separation from God—by Christ's death and resurrection, and everyone who accept this truth will be restored through faith and have eternal life. Note, that the word death here is not about a physical death but a spiritual death. So, this spiritual death and separation from God start from the time when humans disobeyed God which is written in the book of Genesis 3 ( please read the full chapter ) . Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. And because God so love the world He made a way in which He sent his one and only son Jesus Christ to deliver and redeem us from being perished because of our transgressions and sin. John 3:16 , which says, "For God so loved the world that he g...

DEVOTIONAL: PAGTAMO NG KARUNUNGANG MAKA-DIYOS

Many are the plans in a person’s heart,  but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

DEVOTIONAL: IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE

Repentance is important because it allows for forgiveness, spiritual growth, and a renewed relationship with our Heavenly Father. It is an act of turning away from sin and walk toward a path of a healthy spiritual life  which leads to freedom from guilt, healing, and a fresh start. It is often seen as a prerequisite for spiritual progress and salvation. It is also an  act of feeling remorse for all the past wrongdoing. Knowing also that in every mistake that we are going to commit in this present and in the future has a consequences(including the past). So it is called to repent and not to repeat. We have to choose wisely our path by changing our mindsets and behaviour by walking towards a better way of living   fixing our eyes to Jesus.   This involves acknowledging one's actions base not by human judgement but by what Christ Jesus teaching, and committing to a change in attitude and actions in the name of Christ Jesus. A key verse on repentance is 1 John 1...
